Mi nombre es Josefina Gallardo, tengo tres años de voluntaria en educación temprana y tres años como maestra en Encuentro. Mi experiencia como educadora ha sido buena con algunos obstáculos en lo que cabe, el pago es muy bajo pero es una ayuda económica. Me gusta mucho cuidar y aprender de los niños, cómo saber sus necesidades, enseñarles lo que he logrado aprender en clases de capacitación que he tomado y poder usar esas experiencias para aprender el respeto y ganar la confianza de los niños.
Durante este tiempo como educadora me di cuenta que no hay mucha ayuda para las educadoras no tenemos buena paga y no se nos toma en cuenta como maestras.
Esta sesión legislativa quiero ver mas ayuda económicamente para los centros educativos ya que son lugares comunitarios en donde es posible el desarrollo y aprendizaje de los niños pequeños (0–5) y generan empleos para la comunidad. Para las maestras y personal de dichos centros quiero ver mejor salario, beneficios médicos y tener seguro que haya trabajo para todo el personal.
Es importante que durante esta sesión legislativa se vean ciertos cambios porque el salario es bajo y muchas buenas maestras prefieren conseguir empleos de mejor paga. Nos merecemos salarios dignos y que nuestro trabajo se vea reflejado por nosotras, nuestras familias y una mejor vivienda.
El cambio me ayudaría en lo económico, tener un mejor lugar para vivir y para mis hijos poder tener un mejor estudio y mejor alimentación. Tener aumentos de salario ayudaría en los estudios de cada quien igual para mi para seguir superándome, ya que me encanta cuidar de niños y amo ser parte de las nuevas generaciones pasando y apoyando en su desarrollo y aprendizaje.
Debemos seguir la batalla y no dejar de insistir, es necesario hacer juntas con maestras de educación temprana, llamar a los legisladores, recolectar firmas para lograr pasar la sesión legislativa este año.
Necesitamos que los legisladores nos apoyen en el aumento de salario y en tener un seguro fijo para todas las maestras de educación temprana somos maestras y necesitamos ser reconocidas como tales.

My name is Josefina Gallardo, I have been a volunteer in early education for three years and have been a teacher at Encuentro for three years. My experience as an educator has been good with some obstacles, the payment is very low but it is financial aid. I really enjoy caring for and learning from children, knowing their needs, teaching them what I have learned in training classes I have taken and being able to use those experiences to learn respect and gain the trust of children. During this time as an educator I realized that there is not much help for educators, we do not have good pay and we are not taken into account as teachers.
This legislative session I want to see more financial help for educational centers since they are community places where the development and learning of young children (0–5) is possible and generate jobs for the community. For the teachers and staff of these centers I want to see better salary, medical benefits and have insurance that there is work for all staff.
It is important that during this legislative session certain changes are seen because the salary is low and many good teachers prefer to get better paying jobs. We deserve living wages and that our work is reflected by us, our families and a better home.
The change would help me economically, have a better place to live and for my children to have a better study and a better diet. Having salary increases would help everyone with their studies, same for me to continue improving myself, since I love taking care of children.
We must continue the battle and not stop insisting, it is necessary to hold meetings with early education teachers, call legislators, collect signatures to get through the legislative session this year.
We need the legislators to support us in raising salaries and in having fixed insurance for all early education teachers, we are teachers and we need to be recognized as such.
